Toronto Continues To Shine On The Global Stage

International accolades for the City of Toronto continue to pour in. Recently, UHN’s Toronto General Hospital was ranked the third-best overall hospital for the second year in a row and THE TOP publicly funded hospital in the world by Newsweek magazine in its 2025 global ranking (https://www.newsweek.com/rankings/worlds-best-hospitals-2025). Our city was chosen third from 2,445 hospitals across 30 countries. Adding to this distinction, UHN’s Princess Margaret Cancer Centre came in as Canada’s top specialized oncology hospital and was ranked in the top 10 in the world in that category. Plus, UHN’s Toronto Western Hospital was also ranked among the top 10 hospitals in Canada for the second year in a row.

This all amounts to high praise indeed and serves as one of the main reasons why Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area are so attractive to immigrants. Newsweek’s global ranking was based on several quality indicators, including new patient experience data sources, which is a testament to the quality of life we enjoy here.
